The NCC 2590 is the Constellation class ship commanded by Jean Luc Picard before being given the command of the Enterprise. The motto of this research vessel: "To bring light into darkness"

A picture of the Enterprise NCC 1701A at a distance of about 200 miles from the Earth's surface. The original photograph was taken by the crew of STS 91.
